One of the proposals in the Lindfield Village Action Plan 2006 was the production of a Lindfield Village Design Statement (LVDS). An initial draft of a possible LVDS has now been prepared by a group of local residents a copy of which can be found here. The reasons for having a Design Statement are set out in the introduction on page three.
To achieve as high a level of resident involvement as possible the Draft LVDS is first being circulated for consultation purposes to all the Village organisations listed in the Village Diary as well as being posted on Lindfield Online. The comments received will then be carefully considered prior to a revised version being the subject of an Exhibition in the King Edward Hall on Saturday 24 November between 10 am and 4 pm. Admission Free
The Design Statement is an important document which comes at a time when Lindfield is under the threat of over 1,000 new homes being built in the Village. If the character and features which make Lindfield such a pleasant place to live are to be preserved with a third more residents it is particularly important that the Village has a Design Statement which has wide local support.
So how can you help?
- By responding no later than the 12 November with your comments on the draft LVDS to: John Jesson,13 Shenstone, Lindfield,RH16 2PU or
